What are we looking for when you create a character for our game?
That's a damned good question, because it would vary by the player. But for the basics, what you will undoubtedly need to know is:
Character Name
Race
Appearance
Talents and Skills
Powers and Abilities
Background
That's the bare minimum of what you're going to need here. But there is definitely more than that to be sure that this character will thrive in our game.
Why is your character here?
As you might have read already, the setting is not your run of the mill bar and/or tavern somewhere in the middle of a big city. Manchac Louisiana is out in the middle of NOWHERE. The closest large cities are at least 30 miles away, if not more. There is no major industry here to speak of. No major tourist attractions.
This is why Henri chose this place to begin with. Close enough to the big city to not make life completely unlivable, but far enough away to ensure seclusion.
So you have to do some serious thinking here. Why would your character be here? It could be the small bar and grill that attracts bikers and rednecks from local areas, the word of mouth on the streets from those that have been there, but that is not going to draw a large crowd in. Could be the talk on the streets of the safe haven for shifters and various 'others' that can come here and live and be safe from the world of the HUMAN. But even that is going to be limited.
What I'm asking for here is a good story. Put some thought into it.
NEXT.
What will your character do here?
Its no secret that those who stay here, no matter how long the time, will be asked to contribute to the welfare and management of the compound. What will you offer when asked to pitch in? Again, we're asking for a little bit of creativity. Think of the setting, and consider what is needed. You can even ask!
AND FINALLY.
What kind of storylines can you imagine unfolding for your character here?
As a channel, we'd like this to be a group effort, and for our characters to develop and interact, perhaps we should all consider what could be done to thicken the plot, so to speak.
So please, drop us a line to suggest any story lines or plots that you might have and we will be more than happy to discuss them with you!
